Magical Strolls to Little Venice

Have you ever heard of Little Venice? A small district of Mykonos, just by the old harbor, is legendary for the iconic sunsets and the colorful houses. Although it is not a neighborhood filled with locals and traditional houses have been turned into cafeterias and bars, the experience is equally thrilling! So when in Mykonos, take time to enjoy at least one of these marvelous sunsets strolling Little Venice.

This used to be home to Venetian merchants, who were afraid of pirates and other intrusions. In avoidance of such negative consequences (being robbed of their goods, that is), the merchants had to be resourceful.
So they had built their homes truly on the edge of the sea and with an underwater passage. In this way, they could load and unload their goods without being threatened. The structure of these houses has remained intact, even though nowadays they are used for recreational purposes as mentioned above.

Upon visiting Mykonos Chora with its vibrant and busy lifestyle, it is definitely worth heading to Little Venice. Especially as the sun is going down to sleep, the spectacle is purely enchanting. People choose a quiet spot on one of the bars by the harbor or stand by the seashore in sheer anticipation. They wait for the grandeur of the sun, which never seems to fail them.
Little Venice, one of the island's major attractions, is looking forward to welcoming you to its warm embrace. Enjoy the colors on the houses, the sea and the sky, making the most of your afternoon in Mykonos – You deserve such pleasure!
